Counselling and Educational/Training Programmes for Schools

School-based Counselling for Children and Adolescents

I offer individual or group counselling sessions for children and young people between the ages of 5-20 years. Depending on the needs of the school and the needs of the child, the counselling could be short (5-6 sessions) or it could span a whole school year if needed.

Working in a school, I can also offer a drop-in service for pupils, to help briefly around issues such as bullying or managing exam stress.

Consultation Sessions for Teachers and Staff

Consultation sessions may also be part of the package I offer. I can offer weekly slots for teachers and other staff members to discuss any personal or professional problems they may be experiencing, and I can offer them expert advice and/or signpost them to outside agencies where necessary.

Supporting teachers who may be experiencing difficulties at their workplace due to a mental health problem, bullying or frequent conflicts with pupils can help reduce the prevalence of burnout and the frequency of sick leaves amongst school staff.

Supervision

I offer supervision sessions for school counsellors, guidance counsellors, Resource Teachers (RTLB, RT:lit) and Special Education Advisors.

Trainings and Workshops around Mental Health for Staff

I offer training for school staff around topics such as Self-Care Practices for Teachers, Strengths Exploration (building on your positive qualities), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction WS and other topics based on the school's requirements.

Trainings and Workshops around Mental Health for Pupils

I can also create tailored interventions and workshops for children and young people. Some of the topics I have covered in the past include: Anti-Bullying Workshop, Feelings Workshop (for small children), Empathy Workshop (for older children), Diversity, Assertive Communication and Self-Esteem Building workshops.
